The Nidek ARK-1s Subjective Autorefractor Keratometer
Advanced Objective and Subjective Autorefraction with Retroillumination and Accommodation Measurements
Rather than making a new version of an old autorefractor, NIDEK has re-engineered the ARK so more measurements are made – more accurately and more easily.
Dual Zone Imaging Method
The AR-1/ARK-1 uses two measurement rings so that refraction values are simultaneously acquired in a central zone (from 1 to 3.5mm), and a wide zone (from 1 to 6mm). These measurements provide valuable information about the regularity of the patient’s refraction from a day to a night pupil.
• Precise Refraction Measurements
• Dual Zone Refraction Measurements
• Subjective Refraction With Low Contrast Testing
• Glare Testing
• Accommodation Measurement with Artificial Intelligence Algorithm
Subjective Assessment With Low Contrast and Glare Testing
Objective refractions can be refined subjectively and then quality of vision can be assessed with a low contrast chart. A glare test can be performed and the patient’s VA measured.
Accommodation Measurement with Artificial Intelligence Algorithm
Objective measurement of accommodation is performed with patient’s focusing on a target which moves from distance to near. The artificial intelligence algorithm detects the patient’s response and reduces the measurement time in cases with a slow or weak accommodative response.
Simple Opacity Assessment with Retroillumination Imaging
The retro illumination image enables the observation of opacity of the optical media of the eye. NIDEK cataract indices indicate the severity of the opacity and helps to assess the progression of pathology.
Automatic Pupil Size Measurement
As a new function that adds no time to the measurement process, the pupil size is measured during the refraction and this measurement is presented on the printout.
